About the Role We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to lead the design, development, and continuous evolution of the SCC Vision platform. This role combines architectural leadership with hands-on software engineering to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across a modern microservices-based environment deployed on Kubernetes platforms. The Software Architect will establish the technical vision for SCC Vision, guide development teams, and actively contribute to the implementation of critical software components. The role requires strong expertise in enterprise software development, distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and modern DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities Define, maintain, and evolve the overall software architecture for the SCC Vision platform. Lead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and secure microservices-based solutions. Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to software development using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Go. Design and review application architecture, APIs, service communication patterns, integration frameworks, and data models. Establish software engineering standards, coding guidelines, and architectural best practices. Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Program Managers, QA, DevOps, and development teams to ensure successful product delivery. Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and design workshops. Ensure system reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability through sound architectural decisions. Champion automated testing strategies, including Robot Framework and continuous quality practices. Mentor and coach software engineers, fostering technical excellence and innovation. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements aligned with the SCC Vision product roadmap. Railway signalling, ATS, SCADA, or Operational Control Systems. Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Helm. Monitoring and observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK. Azure cloud services and modern software delivery platforms. Experience driving architecture governance and technology strategy across multiple development teams.
