Laboratory Test Engineer

For our client we are looking for a Laboratory Test Engineer to strengthen the project engineering team on automation and protection testing including real time simulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power systems, testing and real time simulations. The role focuses on designing and implementing automation, protection and secondary injection tests according to customer specifications. Ideally, the candidate has a vision on how to productize simulation and testing offering. You will be mainly accountable for: · Designing and implementing automation and protection testing including hardware-in-the-loop testing for power systems according to customer specifications · Leading customer approvals and factory testing of distribution protection relays · Maintaining the customer approval test laboratory in Vaasa · Productizing the simulation and test offering Qualifications For The Role: · A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in electrical or electrical power system engineering or equivalent · Several years of experience working with power systems and prior experience with electrical installations or a commissioning background · Prior experience of leading customer approvals or FATs (Factory Acceptance Testing) · Experience with real time simulators such as RTDS, Typhoon Hil or Opal RT and relay test devices and amplifiers such as Omicron · Experience with PSCAD or a similar software is seen as a strong benefit · Good communication and presentation skills, including fluency in English (written and spoken), Finnish and Swedish language skills are seen as benefits Answer these questions separately in a few sentences and attach them to your application!
