You will set up and operate a 5-axis DMG Mori milling machine with Heidenhain controls to manufacture precision small-series components from copper, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and POM to tight tolerances. Required qualifications include vocational school education, one year of machining experience with CNC and 5-axis operations, familiarity with Heidenhain, and good communication skills in Finnish or English. Salary is paid monthly, and the position is 40 hours per week with a 2-shift rotation (two weeks day shift Monday–Friday and one week evening shift Monday–Thursday). As a Machinist at Bluefors, you'll be working with a 5-axis DMG Mori milling machine, producing precision parts from materials like copper, aluminium, brass, stainless steel, and POM. The work is varied — small series, tight tolerances where it counts, and surface finishes that matter. You'll have real influence over your work, not just push a button and repeat. YOUR TASKS You'll be working as a Machinist in Bluefors' production team, operating a 5-axis DMG Mori milling machine to manufacture precision components for quantum technology systems. Setting up and operating 5-axis DMG Mori milling machines using Heidenhain controls Machining parts from copper, AISI 316 stainless steel, brass, aluminium, and POM Working with part sizes ranging from 5 to 360 mm in diameter Producing small series (typically under 10 pieces) with accuracy and consistency Maintaining tight tolerances and high surface quality standards where required Reading and interpreting technical drawings and machining programs Carrying out quality checks and ensuring finished parts meet specifications Contributing to a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment REQUIREMENTS Solid experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines Hands-on experience with 5-axis machining Familiarity with Heidenhain controls Ability to read technical drawings and apply tolerances accurately Attention to surface quality and detail Good communication skills in Finnish or English NICE TO HAVE Experience with Mastercam or other CAM software Background machining copper, brass, or other non-ferrous materials Experience in small-series precision manufacturing Prior work in a high-tech or engineering environment Chosen applicants will be employed with Barona Teollisuus Oy with fixed-term contract until 31.12.2026, with possibility for extension. This is full-time position from Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with 2-shift rotation on a 3-week cycle: 2 weeks on a day shift (Monday to Friday) and 1 week on evening shift (Monday to Thursday from 14.00 to 00.00, Fridays off).
