Senior Software Engineer | Python | Satellite Analytics Salary: €85,000-€110,000 base Location: Espoo, Finland | Hybrid, three office days per week Relocation support provided for candidates based elsewhere A space technology scale-up is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to take technical ownership of a flagship analytics product that helps customers make informed decisions during natural disaster events.
Working on a live platform with an established customer base, you as the Senior Software Engineer will collaborate closely with analytics and scientific specialists to turn satellite data and analytical insights into reliable, scalable software.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a Senior, Staff or Lead Engineer who enjoys influencing architecture, solving complex engineering problems and taking responsibility for how products perform in production.
The Senior Software Engineer role
Lead technical design and development across an established customer product.
Turn analytical workflows into production software and develop new data pipelines.
Evolve the architecture to support new capabilities and a growing customer base.
Improve reliability, monitoring, testing and deployment processes, including participation in on-call support.
Guide engineering decisions, mentor colleagues and work closely with Product and analytics teams.
There is scope for the position to develop into a team lead role.
Senior Software Engineer experience required Strong hands-on Python development skills.
Experience designing, delivering and maintaining cloud-native production software .
A background in data-intensive products or taking analytical workflows into production.
Strong architecture skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
Experience with relational databases, Docker and CI/CD.
Confidence working with ambiguity, taking ownership and collaborating across disciplines.
The stack includes Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and TypeScript/React. AWS experience is advantageous, although other cloud backgrounds are welcome.
React, geospatial and remote sensing experience are useful but not essential.
The role offers ownership of a commercially established product, close collaboration with scientific specialists and the opportunity to build software used during real-world natural catastrophes.
