Job Description

Framery is a tech-driven pioneer shaping the world's smartest workplaces. Having launched our market leading smart pods, we are now scaling our digital ecosystem through IoT, real-time data, and digital user experiences. As an Embedded Software Engineer, your code will power tens of thousands of devices globally, turning complex technical challenges into seamless solutions that redefine how workspaces are used worldwide. We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at "The Factory" in Tampere. What You’ll Do: As an Embedded Software Engineer at Framery, you will develop software and data capture algorithms for Framery smart pods and sensor devices, making offices more efficient and nicer to use everywhere. You’ll join an experienced seven-person embedded team shaping innovative digital services, ensuring our products are intelligent, connected, and future-ready. We are looking for someone self-driven and comfortable making independent technical decisions, whether that means prioritizing urgent bug fixes or proposing new technical solutions. Rather than following ready-made specs, you’ll take ownership of your work and validate solutions together with the team. With new projects constantly kicking off, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved right from the start and make a direct impact on the future of our smart office solutions. “You have a crucial part in developing an early-stage product that is already—and will continue to be—used by the most interesting clientele in the world!” — Veikko Lindberg, Software Engineering Director What We Expect from You: Zephyr RTOS: Strong, hands-on development experience with Zephyr is essential in this role. Embedded Linux: Practical experience or familiarity with embedded Linux development across the device lifecycle. Core Development: Solid C and Python programming skills. Connectivity & IoT: Good understanding of networking features, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and protocols such as MQTT/AMQP. Self-Directed Mindset: You thrive when given ownership and the independence to build impactful technical solutions. We offer you the trust and freedom to shape your work - alongside a close-knit group of product managers, designers, and business stakeholders who share your drive. Languages: Fluent written and spoken English. Finnish is considered a bonus, but not mandatory. Pluses / Nice-to-haves: Experience with Yocto SDK build processes. Experience with Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update systems, OpenVPN, CANopen, or PKI device integration. What’s in It for You: Ownership: High degree of autonomy to influence hardware/software architectures and shape future products. Culture: A flat hierarchy built on trust, transparency, and a strong focus on employee well-being. Impact: See your code run in devices deployed to offices of top global brands. Benefits: Full suite of Framery perks, including comprehensive healthcare, lunch/culture/well-being benefits, free-time accident insurance, and the Framery Hobby concept. Location & Practicalities: Location: Full-time, permanent role based in Tampere, Finland. Hybrid Work: While we offer flexible working conditions, this role requires hands-on hardware testing and interaction at the office. We are looking for someone based in (or ready to relocate to) the Pirkanmaa region.
