Are you an experienced sales leader with deep expertise in the timber industry and a strong network across Northern Europe?
We are looking for a commercially driven Sales Director to lead the sawn timber sales of Pfeifer Nordics Oy , part of the international Pfeifer Group, and drive profitable growth across the Nordic markets.
A key part of your mission is to take sales to the next level by driving digital transformation, developing modern value-added sales and ensuring first-class customer service. You will lead a team of four sales professionals and take overall responsibility for sales performance, customer development and profitability.
What you’ll do
Lead and develop the sawn timber sales business and a team of sales professionals Drive the digital transformation of sales and develop systematic, data-driven ways of working Build a modern, value-added sales approach and ensure first-class customer service Strengthen key accounts, customer relationships and strategic partnerships Lead contract and price negotiations and develop pricing strategies in changing market conditions Identify new customers, market opportunities and business development potential Drive sales planning, pipeline management, forecasting and budgeting Monitor market, customer and competitor developments and translate insights into commercial actions Work closely with production planning, supply chain and leverage the expertise and capabilities of the wider Pfeifer Group What we expect from you Extensive commercial experience and a strong track record in the sawmill industry Technical and commercial understanding of sawn timber, including products, pricing and market dynamics Strong knowledge of the Nordic timber markets and an established customer and industry network in Northern Europe Solid experience in key account management and working with industrial customers, timber traders and distributors Strong negotiation, business development and financial management skills Proven leadership experience and the ability to lead, motivate and develop an experienced sales team A strategic mindset combined with an entrepreneurial, hands-on and customer-oriented approach A relevant degree in business or technology, sales, marketing or another applicable field Fluency in Finnish and English, as well as willingness to travel regularly Experience in DIY and value-added timber products as well as knowledge of the Baltic and other international timber markets, is considered an advantage.
