Wärtsilä is looking for a Junior Structural Analyst to join its Structural Analysis team! What will you be doing? As a Junior Structural Analyst, you will work with structural calculations and FEM analyses that support Wärtsilä’s product and technology development. Your work will focus especially on cylinder heads and valve mechanisms, fuel systems, and gas systems. You will perform and evaluate FEM analyses, prepare technical reports, and collaborate with designers and other specialists to turn analysis results into engineering decisions. You will join an experienced Structural Analysis team where knowledge is actively shared. Your analyses and reports will be reviewed by experienced colleagues, giving you regular feedback and support. You are encouraged to ask questions, discuss different approaches, and learn from specialists working with demanding structural analysis challenges. You will start with clearly defined calculation assignments and take on increasingly complex analyses as your skills develop. Over time, you can deepen your expertise in different component areas and contribute to simulation method development and new ways of working. What makes you a great fit? You may be taking your first steps in structural analysis or already have some relevant experience and want to deepen your FEM expertise. Most importantly, you have a solid foundation in mechanics and FEM and the motivation to develop into a structural analysis specialist. You enjoy solving technical problems and working with others, but you are also comfortable taking ownership of your own assignments. You communicate your findings clearly, actively look for solutions, and know when to ask colleagues for input. We expect you to have: A relevant Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Mechanics, or a related engineering field A good understanding of mechanics and the fundamentals of FEM Practical experience with FEM through studies, projects, internships, or work Good communication skills in English A proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and teamwork We consider as an asset: Experience with Abaqus, Ansys, OptiStruct, Nastran, SimLab, HyperMesh, or similar simulation software Previous internship, summer job, or project experience related to structural analysis or mechanical engineering Interest in simulation method development, noise simulation, machine learning, digitalization, or other new analysis methods and tools Finnish or Swedish language skills Why join Wärtsilä?
