Job Description
Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Europe 17 days on / 4 days off (Monday - Friday and half day Saturday's) Travel & Accommodation Provided We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join a leading engineering services provider, delivering complex, mission-critical projects across Europe. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of data centre engineering , with additional exposure to life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and specialised construction environments.
The Role
As a key member of the commissioning team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of electrical systems on large-scale projects - with a strong focus on hyperscale and colocation data centres . You will be responsible for inspections, testing, documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all systems meet client, regulatory, and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and assist in the commissioning of electrical systems across major data centre projects , ensuring uptime-critical standards are met.
Manage and maintain project databases to support accurate and complete handover documentation.
Prepare, complete, and track system and equipment test packs using quality management software.
Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams on system handover, tagging schedules, and compliance requirements.
Support the development and upkeep of commissioning execution plans, procedures, and progress reports.
Collaborate with specialist vendors and suppliers during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
Assist with system energisations, functional switching, and performance testing of critical infrastructure.
Contribute to final commissioning reports, certification, and project close-out documentation.
Provide hands-on site support across Ireland and mainland Europe as required.
About You
Relevant electrical or quality engineering qualification.
Background in the electrical trade
Minimum two year’s experience in a similar commissioning role (desirable).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and critical power infrastructure.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with digital quality/commissioning software is an advantage.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Fluent English is essential.
