Job Description
Position: Production Process Engineer
Employer: Easpring Finland New Materials Oy Location: Kotka About the position:
We are looking for Production Process Engineers to join our CAM plant production organization.
The role combines process control, production performance, safety, quality, utilities, and continuous improvement. You will monitor and control both the CAM production process and the key supporting utility and environmental systems.
As the plant operates 24/7/365, the position requires working in a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Process Control
- Monitor and control the CAM production process from the control room using DCS/SCADA systems.
- Follow key process parameters, production performance, quality, and process trends.
- Identify process deviations, analyze causes, and initiate corrective actions.
Utilities & Environmental Processes
- Monitor and control key supporting systems, including compressed air, process and DEMI water, cooling and chilled water, wastewater, off-gas, and scrubber systems.
- Monitor system performance and consumption and react to operational deviations.
Safety, Quality & Performance
- Monitor production volumes, quality, raw material, energy, and utility consumption.
- Identify and investigate process, safety, and quality deviations and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support safe, stable, efficient, and quality-focused production.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze process performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, stability, and resource consumption.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis where applicable.
- Follow up and report production KPIs, deviations, improvement actions, and achieved results.
What We Expect from You:
- Relevant technical degree, preferably in Chemical, Process, Energy, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the chemical process industry or another continuous process industry.
- Practical experience in control room operations and DCS/SCADA-based process control.
- Experience in monitoring and analyzing process parameters, production performance, quality, and consumption.
- Strong safety- and quality-oriented mindset, preferably with experience in investigating process, safety, or quality deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience with industrial utilities, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, statistical analysis, or continuous improvement is considered an advantage.
- Analytical and hands-on approach with the ability to make fact-based decisions based on process data.
- Good communication and collaboration skills in an international industrial environment.
Preferred Industrial Background:
We particularly value experience from continuous process industries, such as chemical, petrochemical, mining, metals, pulp and paper, energy, or battery materials.
The position focuses on monitoring, controlling, troubleshooting, and improving complex industrial processes rather than discrete manufacturing, assembly, or conventional production-line operations.
