We conduct internationally acclaimed basic and applied research. The research is conducted in the Regulatory Genomics group at the Biomedicine unit, MET. We investigate the spatial and temporal dynamics of gene regulation in disease. Using single-cell and spatial genomics, our group maps cell type-specific regulatory programs relevant to disease onset and progression, with the overarching goal of understanding how these regulatory processes reside within the disease microenvironment, and how genetic variation influences them. Job description We are seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher to join a project investigating how microglial states emerge in response to neurodegenerative disease-related stressors and how these states manifest within diseased brain tissue. The project will employ advanced single-cell and spatial genomic techniques developed by the group as well computational inference approaches to study glial gene regulation. The selected candidate will be able to focus on their doctoral research full-time, get supervision, and implement new ideas as a part of a research team in the positive and multidisciplinary environment of the MET faculty.
