You must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, be professionally fluent in Portuguese and proficient in English, and have independent project coordination experience and ERP/SAP knowledge. The full-time fixed-term assignment starts as soon as possible for six months, is flexible within Finland with occasional presence in Turku and travel to South America, and pays about 3500 - 4500 € per month. The role demands a proactive, organised and solution-oriented approach to follow up actions, procurement and deliveries and to support project managers in customer-facing technical work. We are looking for a Portuguese-speaking Project Engineer to join our client, a major international technology company operating in the marine and industrial sectors. In this role, you will support international delivery and service projects related to large-scale engine technology and technical equipment, with a particular focus on customers and projects in South America. About the role This is a hands-on project role where you will coordinate activities, follow up on purchases and deliveries, communicate with customers and suppliers, and make sure agreed actions progress according to schedule. The assignment is initially six months , and we hope you can start as soon as possible. Work tasks You will work closely with an experienced international project organization and support a Project Manager responsible for several customer projects. The team has recently grown, creating a need for additional project engineering capacity. A significant part of the role involves projects in Portuguese-speaking markets in South America , which makes fluent Portuguese essential. You will communicate directly with customers and help translate their needs into concrete actions within the project organization. The projects are related primarily to large industrial engines, engine components and associated technical services. You do not need to be an engine specialist when you join, but you should be comfortable working with technical equipment and industrial projects. The role combines project coordination, customer communication, procurement and technical understanding. Success requires an organised and proactive approach: when something needs to happen, you take ownership of following it through . Your responsibilities may include: Coordinating international customer and delivery projects Communicating with Portuguese-speaking customers in South America Following project schedules, open actions and deliveries Ensuring agreed tasks progress and proactively following up with stakeholders Creating and following purchase orders and procurement activities Working with ERP systems, particularly SAP Coordinating suppliers and external service providers Supporting sourcing and procurement of services such as machining, lifting and specialist field services Investigating delivery issues and other project deviations Collaborating with Project Managers, procurement, logistics, technical experts, suppliers and customers Supporting customer meetings and project-related travel to South America We are looking for For this position, you must have : A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering Professional fluency in Portuguese Professional working proficiency in English Previous experience in project work where you have independently coordinated activities, followed schedules and ensured actions are completed Experience working with purchasing, purchase orders, deliveries or similar ERP-based processes Ability to understand technical equipment and communicate effectively in an industrial environment Willingness and ability to travel to South America when required Experience with SAP A valid driving licence You do not need to speak Finnish. We consider it a strong advantage if you have experience in one or more of the following areas: Marine, maritime or shipbuilding industry Engine technology or powertrain systems Industrial machinery or equipment Technical service or maintenance projects Procurement and supplier coordination Automation Customer-facing technical project roles Your previous job title could for example be Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Delivery Engineer, Service Engineer, Technical Project Engineer or Procurement Engineer . More important than the title is that you understand how technical projects work and are comfortable taking responsibility for keeping t
