Job Description
About Sensible 4
Sensible 4 builds plug-and-play Physical AI solutions that turn existing heavy industrial vehicles into autonomous machines. We focus on real-world industrial environments, enabling customers to quickly deploy, configure, and scale autonomy across multiple vehicle types and sites.
By addressing operator shortages, safety risks, and rising costs, we help customers achieve higher productivity, safer operations, and better equipment utilization. Our long-term vision is to offer standardized retrofit kits, Automation-as-a-Service, and autonomous hub-to-hub logistics — making industrial autonomy accessible far beyond the world's largest mines and industrial groups. We're committed to delivering practical, scalable infrastructure that powers the physical economy, not just demonstration projects.
About the Role
Autonomous vehicles don't stay autonomous on their own — they need people on the ground who can make the technology perform in the real world, not just in the lab. As a Field Engineer, that's exactly the role you'll play.
The position have travel as a considerable part of the role. Travel is mainly for customer sites to conduct deployment, operation, and maintenance of our autonomous solutions. You'll be the critical link between our engineering team and the messy, unpredictable reality of industrial environments, installing systems, diagnosing issues, and keeping vehicles running reliably under challenging conditions.
What You'll Do
- Install and configure hardware and software on industrial vehicles at customer sites
- Perform on-site and remote diagnostics, and resolve technical issues to ensure reliable autonomous operation in challenging conditions
- Collaborate closely with customers to understand their operational workflows, and provide training and guidance on system use
- Document field observations to inform product improvements
- Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams on pilot projects and rollout plans
- Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and the continuous improvement of field processes
What We're Looking For
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, industrial automation, or heavy machinery
- Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for complex hardware and software systems in industrial environments
- Familiarity with networking, sensors, and basic Linux or embedded systems, plus a systematic approach to documentation and issue tracking
- Effective communication and field service skills — you'll collaborate with customers, train users, and represent Sensible 4 in on-site and remote interactions
- Ability to work safely in industrial settings, travel to customer sites as needed, and operate independently in a remote role
