Your role as Head of Data and Analytics at Verkkis This is a rare chance to step into a role where a strong foundation is already in place, the ambition level is high, and you have the mandate to drive real strategic impact across the company. You take the lead of our data team operating in an AI-first agile development mode with technologies such as Google BigQuery, Dagster, dbt, Vertex AI, Terraform, Git/Github and Qlik. Besides the evolution of already strong operation, you will tackle meaningful next steps including for example real-time data capabilities, data foundations for agentic AI, and analytics development across the business. You will be responsible for Leading the development of company-wide data capabilities across data platforms, analytics, data governance and ways of working Defining and executing our data strategy, architecture and roadmap together with colleagues across the business Partnering with business leaders to make the company increasingly data driven, identifying the highest-value use cases, shaping priorities, and ensuring increasing value from data in everyday operations Building and scaling advanced analytics capabilities, including machine learning, across key areas such as customer analytics, pricing, forecasting and supply chain together with our business experts Ensuring the company has the right data foundations to succeed with AI Leading a team of highly skilled data engineers and analytics experts, helping their success and growth, while setting technical direction and raising the bar for impact, quality and execution You will be a member of the Technology and Strategy management team and have the full support of company management that really understands the value of data. We work in a flexible hybrid model and meet at our Helsinki office in Jätkäsaari 2–3 days a week. How you will succeed in this role You are already an experienced data and analytics leader with a track record of building and scaling enterprise-level capabilities and leading multidisciplinary data teams. Your hands-on technical competence is wide and deep enough to challenge and guide your team, but you know when to allow the experts to lead. As a people leader, one of your most important tasks is to help your team succeed. You coach your team towards stronger performance and create the conditions where everyone has the chance to shine. Your leadership combines clear direction, enabling growth, firmness and humanity — in line with our leadership cornerstones. On top of that, your toolkit should include: Strong competence in modern data platforms and tools, data architecture, data models, algorithms and AI development Background with advanced analytics related to core retail processes such as demand and supply forecasting, pricing optimization and customer segmentation is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior business stakeholders and act as translator between business opportunities and data capabilities Drive to make things happen combined with passion for quality and curiosity for what could be possible Fluent English - Finnish language skill is desirable, but not a requirement Our promise to you At Verkkokauppa.com, you get to shape what the future of retail looks like.
