About the role As our first Senior Engineer in Finland, you will bridge the gap between hands-on coding and technical leadership. You will collaborate with cross-border stakeholders to deliver a scalable B2B platform while mentoring a growing team. This is not a traditional management role. You will remain deeply technical while also acting as the local engineering lead for the team — helping drive execution, supporting developers in their growth, and partnering closely with product and leadership stakeholders. Work tasks This role combines deep technical execution with local leadership. You are focusing on building a scalable B2B occupational health platform and ensuring the best possible performance of the local team. Lead and support a newly established engineering team onsite in Finland Stay hands-on in architecture, system design, and software development Establish engineering practices, ways of working, and team culture Mentor and coach developers through technical guidance and collaboration Partner with Product and Design to deliver business impact across Sweden and Finland Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering efficiency Build and operate scalable systems using GCP and containerized technologies We are looking for Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-native architectures Strong experience in backend or fullstack software development Proficiency with Containers and CI/CD Pipelines Experience mentoring developers or leading technical teams Fluent in English with strong cross-functional communication skills It is meritorious if you have Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or Infrastructure as Code Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows Previous experience as a Tech Lead or Staff-level engineer Background in healthcare or fast-moving B2B product organizations To succeed in the role, your personal skills are: Change oriented Goal oriented Social Stable Responsible Respectful Our recruitment process This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our client’s wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work.
