Mechanical Design Engineer – Medical Devices Do you want to develop medical devices that help healthcare professionals diagnose and monitor respiratory diseases worldwide? We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our at Medikro Oy in Kuopio, Finland. Your responsibilities As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will participate in the development of medical devices from concept design to production. You will work closely with software, electronics, quality, and manufacturing teams to create reliable, user-friendly, and cost-effective products. Your responsibilities include: Designing mechanical structures, enclosures, and components for medical devices Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models and technical documentation using SolidWorks Developing prototypes and supporting verification and validation testing Selecting materials and manufacturing methods for production Optimizing products for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and serviceability Supporting design transfers to manufacturing and collaboration with suppliers You are the right fit for us if you: Have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Have a few years of experience in mechanical product design Are proficient with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools Understand engineering materials, manufacturing technologies, and tolerance design Are able to create and maintain technical documentation Have strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset Communicate effectively in both Finnish and English We also appreciate if you: Have experience designing electronics-related products or electromechanical assemblies Have experience with medical devices or other regulated products Are familiar with simulation methods such as FEM or CFD analysis Have experience with plastics, sheet metal structures, injection moulding, or other volume manufacturing methods Understand design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles What We Offer Occupational health services exceeding statutory requirements Flexible working hours and hybrid work possibilities Subsidized sports, culture, wellness, and lunch benefits (ePassi) A company personnel fund offering employees the opportunity to benefit from Medikro’s long-term success and profitability Modern facilities, including access to our gym and sauna An opportunity to develop products that improve patient care around the world About Medikro Oy Medikro is a Finnish family-owned medical technology company specializing in respiratory diagnostics and monitoring.
