Full-Stack Developer – Comparison Services

Our Comparison Services unit (Vertailupalvelut) runs some of Finland’s best-known digital marketplaces, helping people find contractors, rent cottages, maintain their cars, compare loans and electricity contracts, and more. Brands like Sähkövertailu, VertaaEnsin, Urakkamaailma, Nettimökki, AutoJerry and Etua serve hundreds of thousands of Finns making real everyday decisions. We’re now looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our team. The person we’re looking for: a pragmatic, AI-native experienced engineer who owns outcomes rather than tickets, picks their own tools and ways of working, and thrives in an accountable product team. What You’ll Do Take ownership of the development and quality of features across our comparison services, mainly electricity comparison Work with product, design and business colleagues to solve customer problems, not just implement specs Use AI tools actively across the whole development cycle: exploring ideas, writing and reviewing code, testing, debugging and documenting Shape how we build: raise the bar on code quality, architecture and engineering practices, and share what you learn with the team Run and improve our services on AWS, with a sense of responsibility for reliability and performance Use data to understand what’s working and decide what to build next What We’re Looking For Solid, 5+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack developer, with knowledge of PHP and Laravel on the backend and Vue 3 (alongside jQuery in our existing code) on the frontend Experience building and operating production services on AWS (not a necessity) An AI-native approach: you use AI tools in your daily work, you know where they shine and where they need a firm hand, and you take responsibility for the result A product mindset: you care about the customer and the business impact of what you build, and you’re comfortable questioning the “what” as well as owning the “how” Clear communication and good collaboration across disciplines Tools and technologies PHP, Laravel Javascript, Vue, Docker, SQL GitHub Actions / CI/CD AWS Hands-on use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Augment Code (use whichever you prefer; we don’t mandate a stack of tools) Join Alma – where courage grows together At Alma, we foster a culture of collaboration, courage and trust, where everyone is accepted for who they are.
