This is a remote role, with approximately four weeks of initial ramp-up and onboarding in Palo Alto. What You Will Do Ramp up on the existing codebase, build pipeline and regression testing. Enable hardware validation tests and support design changes, component qualification and hardware debugging. Train and guide junior engineers. Provide weekly status updates, risk reports and decision documentation to program leadership. Collaborate with architecture, hardware and software teams on debugging and validation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. 7+ years of embedded software experience with microcontrollers, such as Infineon, NXP or ARM-based platforms. Strong RTOS expertise with FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS or an equivalent real-time operating system. C/C++ experience in bare-metal and RTOS environments, and Python/Rust skills. Experience with hardware debugging tools, including Lauterbach, JTAG, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Hands-on experience with board bring-up and low-level drivers for peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, GPIO, timers, ADC/DAC and external memories. NICE TO HAVE: Background in platform and board support package (BSP) development for MCU-based ECUs, including clocking, BSP and device configuration, and hardware abstraction layers. Experience with hardware components such as sensors and gate drivers. Familiarity with the Infineon SDK and toolchain. ISO 26262 functional safety awareness.
