Founding AI Engineer

We're partnering with an early-stage Finnish AI startup that is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a Founding AI Engineer to join the team. This is an opportunity to become one of the first technical hires, working directly alongside the founders to shape the future of both the platform and the business. This is a hands-on role focused on building and deploying production-grade AI systems, including: Developing AI agents and autonomous workflows using modern LLM frameworks Designing and scaling agent-based architectures for customer deployments Building core platform capabilities and internal AI tooling Working across the full lifecycle from solution design and prototyping through to deployment, monitoring, and optimisation We're interested in engineers who combine a strong software engineering background with hands-on experience building AI-powered systems. Ideally you'll have: Strong commercial software engineering experience, particularly with Python At least 12 months' experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, Strands Agents SDK, or similar Experience working within cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure or GCP also considered) A track record of taking products from design through deployment and operation An ownership mentality and enthusiasm for startup environments Fluent Finnish and English communication skills What makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the level of ownership on offer.
