Join us in building a better and more sustainable world We are now looking for an experienced, business-oriented and forward-looking People & Culture Business Partner to join our People & Culture team. In this senior professional role, you will be Finnfund’s primary People & Culture partner for assigned managers and teams. You will translate business priorities and P&C frameworks into consistent, legally compliant and practical people practices, strengthening leadership, organisational capability, performance, talent, employee experience and change execution across Finland and, together with local stakeholders and advisers, our Nairobi office. Your role You will combine strategic partnership with hands-on operational support. Your key responsibilities include: Advising, coaching and constructively challenging managers on leadership, team effectiveness, role clarity, feedback, inclusion, wellbeing and consistent application of policies. Supporting and facilitating workforce and capability planning, organisation design, role-definition and resourcing discussions, including visibility of critical roles, capability gaps and succession risks. Ensure high-quality recruitment and onboarding, and develop goal-setting, performance, talent and succession processes. Advising managers in demanding employee-relations matters, including employment terms, conduct, performance, workplace conflicts, grievances, absence and work-ability situations, with sound documentation and timely escalation of material risks. Coordinating employee survey follow-up, action planning and impact tracking, and integrating equality, non-discrimination, inclusion and fairness into people processes. Coordinating proactive work-ability management and contributing to occupational safety cooperation, psychosocial workload prevention, workplace investigations and statutory action planning. Maintaining an annual P&C compliance calendar and responsibility matrix, monitoring relevant regulatory and collective-agreement developments, and translating them into policies, guidance, controls and planned actions. Partnering with Nairobi management and local support on leadership, organisation, recruitment, performance, learning, employee relations and change, using agreed local advisers and approval routes where needed. Using people information responsibly to produce evidence-based recommendations and leading selected P&C development projects, including process improvement and responsible use of AI. Maintaining a broad understanding of operational P&C processes and serving as the primary backup for the P&C Specialist, providing hands-on support when required to ensure uninterrupted and compliant services. How the role works within People & Culture Working within Finnfund’s policies, delegated authorities and legal framework, you will independently support and guide managers on people, talent and organisational matters. You will collaborate closely with the Chief People Officer, P&C Specialist, managers and other key stakeholders across Finland and Nairobi to deliver impactful and compliant people solutions.
