Senior Operations Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer , a professional with the drive and capability to design and run modern cloud infrastructure for next-generation weather intelligence. If you are motivated by having a major role in building reliable operations for systems that power high-impact, data-intensive weather and AI services, we would love to see you bring your expertise to Skyfora. How will you make an impact Infrastructure Design & Scalability : Design, build, and operate our cloud infrastructure and services with a strong focus on reliability, simplicity, and scalability. Operational Ownership : Take ownership of operational quality—including availability, performance, and incident response—for our platforms and applications. Observability & Visibility: Establish and evolve observability (metrics, logs, alerts) to provide clear visibility into overall system health. IaC & Automation: Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation (modules, scripts, pipelines) to eliminate manual toil and ensure reproducible environments. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software engineers and data teams to design deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and operational practices for microservices. Production Resilience: Diagnose and resolve production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes that elevate system resilience. What You bring to the team Cloud & Operations Experience: Solid experience operating cloud-based services and infrastructure in production (operations, SRE, or DevOps roles). Distributed Systems: Proven ability to run distributed systems or microservices reliably in a cloud environment. Efficiency Track Record: A demonstrated track record of improving system reliability, deployment processes, or overall operational efficiency. Modern CI/CD Expertise: Strong understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery practices. Problem-Solving Mindset: A self-driven approach, customer-service-oriented attitude, and strong problem-solving skills for complex operational issues. Bonus points for Experience with HashiCorp tools such as Nomad and Consul. Prior work in data-intensive environments.
