We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join ABB Marine & Ports and support the delivery of advanced marine electrical, propulsion, and control system projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career engineer who wants to develop technical expertise within a global engineering organization and gain hands-on experience in international delivery projects.
Your responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, you will:
- Support Lead Engineers in delivery project engineering and design activities
- Assist in technical problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and related engineering activities
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on system integration and troubleshooting
- Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes and ways of working
- Support project teams in ensuring successful project execution and delivery
You will have the opportunity to work with systems such as:
- Generators
- Main switchboards and power distribution systems
- Transformers
- Converters and drives
- Propulsion Control Systems (PCS)
- Remote Control Systems (RCS)
- Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems
- Marine automation and control systems
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role, we hope you have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in an international project environment
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Interest in electrical systems, automation, and engineering projects
Considered an advantage
- Familiarity with EPLAN or other electrical design tools
- Knowledge of IEC or IEEE standards
- Previous project, internship, or thesis experience related to electrical engineering or automation
- Interest in marine technology and power systems
