Want to join the ride? Position title: Strategic purchaser Department: Supply chain management, Engine Power Plants (EPP) Location: Vaasa, Finland What will you be doing? As strategic purchaser, you will execute sourcing activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that the supplier base aligns with organisational goals and standards in close cooperation with your stakeholders. In this role, your main responsibility is to manage and strategically develop supplier base and ensure that performance and supplier relationships are maintained. You will also perform supplier negotiations in close cooperation Category Managers, product teams and other stakeholders. You will be reporting to GM, Strategic Sourcing and will be part of the Energy Supply Chain Management organisation. The main responsibilities include: · Ensure capacity, delivery reliability, lead time and cost development of products for own area of responsibility. · Negotiating, creating and updating agreements with suppliers, maintain SAP Outline Agreements and material/supplier master data in where applicable · Secure supplier capacity and demand forecasting · Gather and analyse supplier data, execute benchmarking, provide data with insight to the relevant functions and teams. · Accurately and proactively manage supplier allocations as well as possible slot planning activities. · Maintain regular communications with supplier base in own area of responsibility to ensure correct, timely and continuous information sharing and mutual understanding, including regular on-site visits. Other responsibilities: · Analyse and act on current and future supply demand and ensure supplier capacity in cooperation with the appropriate functions and teams. · Act as a core member of the assigned cross-functional category and product teams. · Ensure compliance to Supply Management processes/procedures, strategies and agreements. · Execute/support supplier selection/rationalisation process. Requirements: · Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply management or equivalent field · B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Engineering and/or Economics · Good level of understanding of mechanical engineering · Proactive, solution oriented as well as result-oriented attitude · Excellent negotiation skills · Good level of communication, presentation and collaboration skills · Strong problem solving and analytical skills · Fluency in English and Finnish – other language proficiencies are seen as an advantage · Willingness and preparedness to travel for work Ideal candidate profile and capability expectations: · Strong capability and background knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, including supplier selection, agreement, purchase-to-pay, material delivery and claim handling. o Works confidently and consistently with limited supervision on standard activities, seeking advice for complex or non-standard matters when needed. o Manages complex sourcing activities independently and provides guidance and advice to others, as appropriate to the role scope. · Applies strong strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management practices across the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier selection, supplier development, agreement management, purchase-to-pay, delivery follow-up and claim handling. · Working knowledge of finance and commercial drivers,
