WE ARE LOOKING FOR
EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER (AUTOMOTIVE)
We are looking for an
Embedded Software Engineer
to join our team. You will start your journey in a consultant role in an international automotive software project for a major automotive client.
You will join an experienced team working on in-vehicle software that reaches customers. The team makes sure the vehicle software runs reliably, adding features, investigating problems from test and customer vehicles, and delivering fixes into production releases. You will also have access to cutting-edge AI tooling in your daily development work.
Your future colleagues are waiting for you to join our international team. Working with us is uncomplicated, there’s a good team spirit, low hierarchy and nonexistent bureaucracy.
Our working arrangements are flexible, with occasional evening availability from around 18:00 Finnish time needed to collaborate with colleagues in California. We strongly prefer candidates who can work on site in Helsinki or Tampere , where the development hardware is located.

What we’re looking for
Must-have
AOSP systems deep-dive: Hands-on experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) internals, including system services, Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs), native/C++ services, and the Android runtime and framework.
System-level performance profiling and optimization: Proven ability to analyze and optimize CPU utilization, thread contention, memory footprint, thermal throttling, and system pressure, including LMK, zRAM, and ion/dmabuf memory management.
Boot-time optimization: Experience analyzing and reducing boot times through init scripts, early services, driver-loading sequence, and systemd or Android init optimization.
Strongly preferred
Profiling and tracing tools: Proficiency with Linux and Android tools such as Perfetto, systrace, simpleperf, top/procrank, eBPF, and memory-leak analysis tools such as AddressSanitizer, valgrind, or similar.
Power and thermal management: Understanding of power rails, sleep states, CPU/GPU frequency scaling and governors, and system behavior in low-power or high-pressure states.
What you will do
Measure, analyze, and optimize system performance metrics, including cold and warm boot times, UI frame latency, and memory overhead across release builds.
Diagnose system-pressure bottlenecks, memory leaks, high CPU load, and unexpected thread starvation using deep-tracing and profiling tools.
Optimize early-stage system boot sequences and service dependencies to meet strict automotive startup-time requirements.
Design and implement targeted performance fixes at both the native Linux kernel and driver level and the AOSP framework layer.
