The New Standard in Mineral Intelligence Today, even the most sophisticated mining companies are in the dark about the mineral content of the ore they process. Decision-making relies on fundamentally inaccurate mine block models lacking any real-time information. This leads to loss of critical materials, final product price discounts and costly plant shutdowns. Transition to precision mining is critical for the world, with metals like copper becoming central to the global economy. In the next 25 years, the world will need as much copper as has been mined throughout human history, with all of the world’s easy-to-mine deposits largely depleted. Hypermine is a Finnish deep-tech start-up transforming how the mining industry extracts natural resources. Spun out of VTT and supported by Tier 1 mining company Anglo American, Hypermine is commercializing breakthrough mineral sensing technology designed to bring real-time, data-driven decision-making into the most critical parts of the mining process. Our proprietary technology combines unique laser illumination, a patented hyperspectral platform and machine learning to identify minerals and ore grades in real time – 24/7 and in demanding mining conditions. By giving mining companies 100x more accurate information about the material they extract, Hypermine enables better operational decisions, improved ore recovery and profitability, and reduced energy and water consumption. Following years of technology development and validation, Hypermine is now entering a new phase of commercial growth. We are working with 5 leading global mining companies across several continents, including Australia, South and North America, and are building the products, technology organization and capabilities needed to scale internationally. The Role We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Espoo. This is a full-time position. Salary range for this position is 3800 - 4800 EUR per month. As our Manufacturing Engineer, you will: Manufacture Hypermine’s sensor systems , from components and cabling through assembly and testing to systems ready for customer delivery Develop and improve our manufacturing line , including test setups and fixtures, with the freedom to put your ideas for better methods, processes and documentation into practice Work with R&D to make our systems easier to manufacture and assemble , bringing the production perspective into design decisions (design for manufacturing and assembly, DfM/DfA) Troubleshoot production and quality issues , finding root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent them from recurring Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field 3+ years of experience with manufacturing lines and processes for industrial electromechanical systems Hands-on approach to assembly, testing and troubleshooting, with a structured way of finding root causes Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly (DfM/DfA) Experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles Initiative and the ability to work independently, combined with good communication skills for working closely with R&D and other stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Experience with electrical test equipment and test setups Experience designing jigs and fixtures Experience from a startup or other fast-moving environment What We Offer Meaningful Innovation : Work on a breakthrough "world-first" product where your contributions aren’t just incremental but foundational to our technology’s success.
