Job posting end date: 10/18/2026 We are looking for a Chief Engineer, Generic Process Engineer to join our Process and Diagrams team in the Minerals business area. In this role, you will be responsible for process engineering activities in global plant delivery projects, supporting the successful delivery and development of metal refining plant solutions. You will report to the Head of Process and Diagrams, and the role location is Espoo, Finland, with a hybrid working model available. The team is responsible for process engineering and process documentation for global plant delivery projects, supporting project execution from engineering through implementation. The team collaborates closely with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to develop and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for metal refining plants. The team’s work emphasizes technical excellence, continuous development, and effective project execution. What you'll do Lead generic process engineering activities in plant delivery projects as Chief Engineer. Manage subcontracted engineering work and support successful project execution. Develop and maintain P&I Diagrams and Process Flow Diagrams. Prepare and contribute to other process engineering deliverables required during project execution. Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines during project execution. Contribute to the development of Metso’s metal refining plants and engineering solutions. What you'll bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering, studies in Plant Design are considered as an advantage. Experience in process engineering, for a Chief engineer role at least 4+ years of experience is expected. A positive and proactive approach to work, with a strong commitment to delivering results. Eagerness to learn, develop professionally, and contribute to continuous improvement. Customer-focused and innovative mindset with good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, while also working independently. Knowledge of CAD design tools preferably AutoCAD Plant3D with process diagrams is an advantage.
