Jobbeskrivning

**Type**: Full-time, permanent **Location**: Lemminkäisenkatu 46, 20520 Turku **Application deadline**: 13.10.2026 Are you ready to take ownership of technically demanding space projects and work closely with customers from development to delivery and beyond? Join ASRO and help bring Finnish space technology to customers around the world! **Your role with us** As a **Project Manager** at Aboa Space Research (ASRO), you will take responsibility for projects within ASROs space weather business area. Your focus will be on space radiation instruments, with several ongoing projects ranging from instrument deliveries to concept studies. You can read more about ASROs space weather monitoring solutions here. You will independently manage typically one to three projects at a time, coordinating the work of multidisciplinary engineering teams and keeping schedules, deliverables, resources, and stakeholders aligned. You will follow project progress, make sure agreed actions move forward, and keep customers up to date throughout the project. Depending on the project, your work may range from managing straightforward instrument deliveries to coordinating more exploratory development where the technical solution is still taking shape. Your role will also extend beyond traditional project management. You will work closely with customers, ESA, subcontractors and ASROs multidisciplinary engineering teams, with opportunities to contribute to systems engineering and technical development. As projects move from development to delivery, you may also continue working with customers around instrument data and future needs, as well as identify opportunities for follow-up projects. The exact scope can be shaped around your background and strengths. **What makes you a great fit?** You have experience managing technical projects and are comfortable taking ownership of complex projects involving both engineering teams and external customers. A technical background helps you understand what is happening beneath the project plan and work effectively with specialists across different disciplines. At the same time, you are not looking for a narrowly defined Project Manager role. ASRO is a small and evolving company, and you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute where your expertise creates the most value. Depending on your strengths and wishes, in the future your role can also develop towards technical product ownership, broader project portfolio project management responsibilities, or a more customer-facing and commercial direction. **We hope you have:** - A Masters or PhD degree in engineering, natural sciences, or another relevant technical field - Ideally, plus five years of relevant professional experience, including experience in project management or technical project environments - Experience taking ownership of projects and coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams - A strong technical understanding and the ability to work effectively with engineering specialists and customers - Good English skills and confidence working with different internal and external stakeholders **We consider as an asset:** - Experience from the space industry, space instrumentation or other demanding technology environments - Knowledge of radiation effects, detection technologies, embedded software or data-related solutions - Experience from product development, product ownership, or bringing technical products into production - Experience working in a smaller technology company or in customer-facing engineering projects - Finnish language skills **What ASRO offers you?** - Take ownership of ambitious space projects where you can directly influence how projects and customer relationships develop. - Work with space radiation technology across instrument development, deliveries and emerging data-driven services. - Use your technical expertise beyond project management, with opportunities to contribute to systems engineering and product development. - Shape your role in a small organization with minimal hierarchy as ASROs products, customers and business continue to develop. - Flexible working methods and the possibility of partial remote work - Healthcare insurance as an employment benefit **Practicalities** This is a permanent, full-time role, and you will be employed directly by ASRO. The position is based at ASROs office in Turku, and regular on-site presence is important for close collaboration with the project teams. Partial remote work is also possible. The role includes occasional travel to customers and other project stakeholders, typically a few trips per year depending on the projects. Salary ranges between 4000–6500 €/month, with the final salary determined based on your experience and expertise and your readiness to take independent ownership of space radiation instrument projects. We are also happy to hear about your salary expectations. **Recruitment process** - Initial phone i
