Application Owner, Supply Chain

Job posting end date: 10/11/2026 Introduction Metso is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Application Owner for Production area applications to join our IT Supply Chain Management domain and Production, Quality and Project management Team. In this role, you will own the lifecycle management and development of IT solutions in this area. This position is mainly located in Tampere or Espoo, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. What you’ll do As Application Owner, Supply Chain, you will: Own the application's business value, service performance, security, compliance and roadmap while acting as the primary bridge between business and IT, and participate in vendor, contract, license and budget-related activities as agreed. Manage application upgrades, enhancements and retirement plans. Collect and document business requirements, perform functional analysis, and ensure solutions are properly designed, tested, documented and adopted by stakeholders. Collaborate with business stakeholders, external partners and internal IT teams to deliver enhancements, integrations and continuous improvements. Act as the subject matter expert for production area applications, providing guidance across business areas and ensuring knowledge transfer where needed. Coordinate and follow up IT delivery work to ensure agreed actions progress effectively. Monitor and improve key performance areas such as availability, user satisfaction, usability, automation, cost and overall service quality. Contribute to IT tools, processes and ways of working, including agile, DevOps and ITIL practices, to improve delivery speed and solution quality. Take on special project, program or product delivery responsibilities when needed. Who you are To succeed in this role, you will need a solid mix of application ownership experience, manufacturing IT understanding and hands-on technical coordination capabilities: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information management, supply chain or economics Minimum 4+ years of IT work experience and business work experience Strong understanding of MES, OEE, IoT, manufacturing processes and manufacturing IT environments, including integrations between MES/OEE solutions, ERP systems, production processes and manufacturing equipment. Ability to understand application architecture, dependencies, environments and data flows across application, infrastructure, database and network layers. General SAP S/4HANA understanding in a manufacturing environment; basic SAP PP/MM knowledge is needed. Working knowledge of Azure, Windows Server, IIS, virtual machines, environments, networking and application infrastructure. Basic SQL/database knowledge and ability to troubleshoot availability, connectivity and performance issues using logs, monitoring alerts, system errors and simple queries where needed. Understanding of ITSM practices, including incident, problem, request and change management, and ability to coordinate technical issues across internal IT teams, vendors and business stakeholders. Good understanding of access management, application security, Test/Production separation and disaster recovery principles, including recovery planning, backup/recovery dependencies and participation in DR testing.
