Are you interested in enabling successful research projects and working with major national and international funding programmes? We are looking for a Funding Advisor to contribute to training, communication and coordination activities within Research Services. What your work will be like As a Funding Advisor, you will work with major national and international research funding instruments, including the Research Council of Finland, the European Research Council (ERC), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), Horizon Europe and other funding programmes. Your work will include advicing budget planning and proposal preparation, , and working with funding requirements and application processes. A key responsibility of the role is to coordinate, manage and deliver LUT's internal research funding training programme, Research Grant Quest. You will coordinate the annual programme, organise training sessions and events, collaborate with internal and external experts, and contribute to the development of the programme. You will also be responsible for internal communication related to research funding. This includes communicating funding opportunities, calls, deadlines and application processes across the university and ensuring that relevant information reaches the right audiences at the right time. You will be part of the seven-member Excellent Science Funding team within Research Services. The team includes another Funding Advisor and a Grant Writer, enabling close collaboration and knowledge sharing. The team works closely together and meets monthly. What we expect from you You have a relevant master's degree. A doctoral degree is considered an advantage. Beyond the degree requirement, we value different professional backgrounds and the combination of skills, experience and motivation that candidates bring to the role. Experience in research funding, project preparation, communication, training coordination, or related expert work is relevent to the role. You are able to work with information from multiple funding sources, identify relevant opportunities and requirements, and communicate them clearly to different audiences. Excellent written and spoken English is required, as the role involves working in an international research environment and with international funding programmes. Good knowledge of Finnish is considered an advantage. What we offer you The role offers opportunities for continuous professional development in a dynamic research funding environment. The position is permanent and starts as agreed with a six-month trial period. You will be based either in Lappeenranta or Lahti, and the work will require some travel. Partial remote work is possible. LUT offers a modern hybrid work model that combines flexibility with regular on-site collaboration across both campuses. The position follows the universitys 36.25-hour work week for expert and support staff. The hours are flexible, supporting work-life balance. Your job will be at requirement level 9 or 10 on the expert and support staff pay scale. In addition, the pay includes a personal, performance-based salary element.
