Come join us and make an impact! We have an exciting opportunity for a patent professional to join a world-class Patenting team of inhouse patent attorneys. The team works mainly on drafting and prosecuting patent applications essential to 3GPP standards, thus creating assets for licensing. You will work not only with skilled colleagues but also with an extensive network of external associates. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN You will make a direct impact on building the Nokia patent portfolio for the 6th generation cellular communication system standardized within the 3GPP. You will be responsible for standard essential patent (SEP) portfolio development and support primarily in the following areas: Drafting standard-related patent applications inhouse and with external patent attorneys Prosecuting globally the patent applications inhouse and with external patent attorneys Evaluating filed patent applications on a regular basis, including reviewing claim charts and evaluating patent validity in order to plan and execute the best prosecution strategies for your cases to bring out the best value All above is based on collaborating closely with the inventor community You will work in a team of highly-competent patent attorneys that will provide you with their support and advice, whenever needed. And also ask you for your advice. Besides your core duties, you will also get opportunity to contribute in various development and pilot activities where new work practices and tools are probed. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Physics/Mathematics, or equivalent field Experience with telecom and computer-implemented patent applications and prosecution thereof Qualified European Patent attorney or passed multiple papers of European Qualifying Examination or US Patent Attorney/Agent.
