We are looking for you,
(Senior) Process Development Engineer
to our Renewables Processes team in Porvoo.
As a (Senior) Process Development Engineer, you will be in a key role in supporting the continuous improvement of our existing renewable products refineries in Finland, the Netherlands and Singapore. As a subject matter expert, you will develop safe and feasible process concepts and processes, perform technical design or simulations/modelling or perform technoeconomical evaluations, and/or acting as the project team leader. You will be a contributor to our SAF production growth strategy and the development of Neste’s pretreatment and/or upgrading processes. In our team, you will also contribute to the production sites' operational troubleshooting, develop new process concepts in low carbon, or renewable technology through supporting technology development and investment projects. Together with your ambitious contribution, we can do meaningful work to drive Neste forward.
The job is located in Kilpilahti, Porvoo, which is about 30-45 minutes by car from the capital region. We organize free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas. It is possible to work partly remotely through our hybrid working practice.

Your role in our team
Providing subject matter (technical) expertise to production site development initiatives, troubleshooting, projects and/or acting as a task coordinator Contributing to the early phase concept creation and the process design through later stages of projects Supporting R&D in experiment and pilot testing design Collaborate actively with a global network of process engineers, R&D specialists, modeling experts, and engineering disciplines to achieve Neste’s strategic goals Keys to success in this role M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering Work experience in relevant industry process engineering in the field of oil refining, petrochemical or chemicals Knowledge of thermochemical conversion, catalytic processes, or bioprocesses Understanding of process design activities (for example, material and heat balance calculations, equipment sizing) Understanding of processing of renewable or circular feedstock is a plus Interest and high motivation of digitalization and use of AI Fluent written and spoken command of English A hands-on, proactive attitude and a strong willingness to learn new technologies quickly Strong interpersonal, communication and self-leadership skills A responsible attitude with a safety-oriented mindset Let’s get you started We look forward to receiving your CV and application by September 27, 2026 .
