Jobbeskrivning
Would you like to explore the creative industry — or see what it is actually like to work alongside a creative entrepreneur?
I am looking for someone interested in marketing, communications, digital content and creative business to join my small creative business through a **work try-out (työkokeilu)**.
I work across visual art, art products and spatial design, with projects ranging from my own artwork and online shop to exhibitions, cultural projects, events, collaborations and client work. This means you will get to see how different parts of a creative business connect — from developing ideas and creating content to presenting, marketing and selling creative work.
What you could explore and learn:
The exact focus of the work try-out can be shaped around your interests, existing skills and learning goals. Depending on what you would like to learn, this could include:
- Instagram content: posts, Reels and Stories
- photography and documenting artwork, projects and events
- website content and updates
- online shop content, including product images, descriptions and presentation
- newsletters and email communication
- basic SEO and digital marketing
- looking at website, social media and online shop analytics
- identifying potential customers, collaborators and B2B opportunities
- supporting communication and outreach
- preparing content around exhibitions, events and other creative projects
- documenting spatial design and creative projects
- learning how a small creative business approaches marketing, sales and communication
- exploring how an artist, designer and entrepreneur balance creative work with the practical side of running a business
You would work **alongside and with guidance from me**, rather than simply being given a list of tasks to complete independently. There will be opportunities to observe how decisions are made, ask questions, try things out and discuss what works and what does not.
Who this could be for:
This opportunity could suit you if you are:
- curious about working in the creative, cultural, design or arts sector
- considering a career in marketing, communications or digital content
- thinking about becoming a freelancer or entrepreneur
- already developing your own creative practice or small business and want to see how another creative entrepreneur works
- interested in learning more about online sales, social media or digital marketing
- looking for practical experience to complement your existing studies or skills
You do **not** need to be an experienced marketer. Curiosity, reliability, organisation and willingness to learn are more important.
Experience or interest in Instagram, photography, video, graphic design, websites, online shops, SEO, digital marketing or analytics would be useful. A visual eye and an interest in creative work are a bonus.
What you can gain:
This is an opportunity to gain practical experience while getting a closer look at the realities of running a small creative business.
You can develop skills and material for your CV and portfolio, test whether this type of work suits you, build professional connections and learn from the day-to-day decisions, challenges and opportunities that come with creative entrepreneurship.
It is also a two-way learning experience: I can share what I have learned from working as an artist, architect, spatial designer and entrepreneur, while your skills, questions and perspective can bring something valuable to the business too.
About the work try-out:
This is a **work try-out (työkokeilu), not an employment relationship**. During the work try-out, you continue to receive the unemployment benefit you are personally entitled to through Kela or your unemployment fund, subject to their rules. You may also be entitled to an expense allowance for participation days.
The work try-out must be agreed with your employment services **before it begins**. If you are interested but are unsure whether a work try-out is possible in your situation, you can discuss the opportunity with your employment-services contact.
Paloma Bautista is a small creative business based in Finland, combining **visual art, spatial design and creative project work**.

The business also includes exhibition and cultural project production, event-related work, creative collaborations and commissions. Projects range from creating and selling artwork to designing spaces, producing exhibitions and developing creative concepts for organisations, events and brands.
You continue to receive your unemployment benefit through Kela/an unemployment fund, plus a €9/day expense allowance.
