Java Developer for the banking sector in Helsinki

About the role As a Java Developer, you will work on developing backend services related to payment processing and embedded banking. Your work will include implementing business logic and rules, validating payment requests, enriching and storing data, and building integrations with other systems. You will have the opportunity to develop new services and functionality from the ground up within an existing environment, using modern Java technologies. This is a 6-month fixed-term position, with a possibility of extension. Work tasks - Developing backend services related to payment processing and embedded banking - Implementing business logic, rules and payment request validation - Enriching and storing payment-related data in databases - Developing and maintaining integrations with other systems - Building new services and functionality within an existing environment - Ensuring the reliability, scalability and performance of the developed services We are looking for - At least 6 years of professional experience in Java software development - Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot and microservices - Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL and/or Db2 - Experience developing distributed, highly available and high-throughput applications - Experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot - Full working proficiency in English We appreciate if you have experience with: - Specification-Driven Development (SDD) and related frameworks - Kafka, CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, Maven and JUnit To succeed in the role, your personal skills are: - Collaborative - Independent - Responsible Our recruitment process This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work and it is our clients wish that all questions regarding the position is directed to Academic Work.
