Santa Claus / Freelance Performer – Winter Season in Rovaniemi We are looking for authentic, warm-hearted and professional Santa Claus performers to join our team for the upcoming winter season in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland. This is not an ordinary job where you simply put on a costume and repeat the same performance all day. As Santa Claus, you will meet people from all over the world and become part of moments that may remain in their memories for years to come. Your main responsibility is to create genuine, warm and memorable encounters as Santa Claus. Depending on the assignment, your work may include private Santa visits, meetings with families and children, visits to hotels and accommodation properties, Christmas programmes and other Santa-related experiences in the Rovaniemi area. No two encounters are exactly the same. You may meet excited children, shy children, families celebrating a special occasion or guests visiting Lapland for the first time. The ability to listen, read different situations and react naturally is therefore an essential part of the work. We are not looking for someone who simply performs a memorised script. We are looking for people who understand that even a short encounter can sometimes become a lifelong memory. The work is highly international, and good spoken English is required . Other language skills are considered an advantage. About the work The work is seasonal, and assignments may vary in duration, location and content. Working hours are flexible and depend on bookings and customer demand. The busiest period takes place during the Christmas and winter season. Assignments take place mainly in the Rovaniemi area. The ability to move independently between different locations is an advantage, and depending on the assignments, a driving licence and access to transportation may be beneficial. You will receive guidance and support for the role, but we also expect you to take responsibility for your own professionalism and preparation. Freelance and assignment-based work This position is not a traditional employment relationship . The selected Santa Claus performers work independently and invoice for the assignments they complete. The work can be carried out, for example, as: a freelancer or self-employed professional a light entrepreneur using an invoicing service through your own business Compensation is agreed in advance for each assignment. There is no fixed monthly salary, and earnings depend on the number and type of assignments completed. More detailed information about the assignments, compensation and practical arrangements will be discussed with suitable applicants.
