Tiivistelmä työpaikkailmoituksesta: The Senior Patent Counsel/Agent will prosecute and build a high‑value worldwide patent portfolio by drafting office action responses, conducting examiner interviews, and leading strategic patent selection. The role involves performing patent infringement and validity analyses and collaborating with engineers and business units to align claims with product roadmaps and licensing objectives. Candidates must be a qualified European or US patent attorney with at least 8 years of hands‑on patent prosecution and portfolio management experience and an MS or higher in a relevant engineering or telecommunications field. Experience with telecommunications and 3GPP standards, cross‑jurisdictional prosecution, strong verbal and written communication, and a proactive, results‑oriented mindset are required. We are seeking talented and motivated patent attorneys to apply their legal, technical, and communication skills with engineers and business units to build and develop the highest quality, high-value worldwide patent portfolio. The selected candidate will be required to understand the technology, business plans, product roadmaps, industry practices, domestic and international patent laws, and work in a cooperative atmosphere to purposefully prosecute and secure high-quality, strategic patent assets throughout the world. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Drafting Office Action Response in-house and with external patent attorneys Conducting interviews with examiners Performing patent infringement and validity analyses Collaborating with counsel across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional practices and law Understanding telecommunication standards (e.g., 3GPP technical standards) Working with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges Participating in and potentially leading selection of high-quality, strategic patent assets Reviewing and updating telecommunication (3GPP) standards related claim charts Implementing patent prosecution strategies focused on strengthening claims to align with specific business goals and potential licensing/infringement scenarios KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Qualified European Patent Attorney, US Patent Attorney Minimum 8 years of hands-on work experiences at a law firm and/or in a Corporate IP department, including meaningful professional exposure to managing patent portfolios, drafting and prosecuting patent assets, developing patent prosecution strategies, and conducting patent analysis MS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or another closely related technology area relevant to Nokia's business concerns Experience in the field of telecommunications, working knowledge of telecommunication (3GPP) standards and/or experience in telecommunication standards-based patent prosecution Proactive, result-oriented, and strong motivation to excel Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing It would be nice if you also had: Experience at a top law firm and/or In-house experience with large telecommunication companies Experience in claim charting related to telecommunication (3GPP) standards Collaborative and responsible team-player mentality Goal-oriented forward thinking and acting ABOUT US Advancing connectivity to secure a brighter world.
